Alongside The Hungry Cat food trailer, our catering service also offers stunning organic food made with locally sourced, seasonal produce. We make a handful of exceptions for some specialist Far Eastern ingredients – but these are few and far between.
We’ll be serving you vegan and, on request, vegetarian food, all of which will be entirely based on the natural resources of the season and region.
Both the quality and the origin of our ingredients are top priorities for us – we prefer to work with regional organic farmers, Solawis or collectives; we like to support fair providers and prefer short, CO2-neutral supply chains.
Our food trailer The Hungry Cat specializes in summer rolls, sourdough pancakes and crepes.
Our crunchy summer rolls are filled with both raw and roasted vegetables, seasoned with marinades and sauces and served with homemade dips, all of which were developed by us. We lovingly wrap our eye-catching summer rolls by hand – making them a treat for all the senses.
As a hearty side dish, you can have rice with our ever-popular peanut sauce, a well-known favourite from the ‘Let It Be’ days. Another well-loved menu item from that era are our crêpes and galettes, items which we’ve also brought along for The Hungry Cat ride – we may have developed the recipes further and implemented new, exciting ideas – but they’re still prepared fresh with love and served with both sweet and savoury fillings. Plus there’s a gluten-free version of the galettes if that’s what you’d prefer.
Whether it’s visiting the food trailer or at a private event, you can watch the food being prepared directly, which offers a high level of transparency and helps make the waiting time part of the overall experience.
You’ll get to see how the dough on the crepe plates slowly bakes through, how the chocolate melts onto the crepes, how the sugar caramelises, and how the vegetables gradually cook to perfection. Hmmmmm.
The sourdough pancakes are also baked on the hot crepe plates, we serve them sweet or savoury with a modern twist – in addition to the classic ingredients, we work with Panasian or Australian inspiration for the ingredient compositions.
We cultivate our own sourdough from sourdough starters.
